What is Etape?
Etape is an AI-powered road trip planner for iOS. Enter a start and destination, pick a travel style and interests, and get curated stop suggestions along your route — complete with detour time estimates, photos, and descriptions. Export your trip to Google Maps or navigate directly.
How does AI-powered discovery work?
When you plan a route, Etape uses AI (Anthropic's Claude) to suggest interesting stops based on your route, travel style, and interests. Each suggestion is validated against Google Places for accuracy, enriched with photos and ratings, and scored with a detour time estimate so you know exactly how far off your path each stop is.
What data does Etape collect?
Most of your data — saved routes, preferences, search history — stays on your device. When you plan a route, your start and destination coordinates and travel preferences are sent to our servers to generate recommendations, but this data is not stored after the request is completed. We use TelemetryDeck for privacy-friendly, anonymous analytics. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Etape Pro subscriptions are managed through Apple. To view, change, or cancel your subscription, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you'll keep access to Pro features until then.
